DMT Loule Cup, Portugal
Four Marriotts DMT gymnasts recently represented Great Britain at the Loule Cup, Portugal. Reece, Lewis, Omo and Marshall were selected for this event following their impressive domestic season, and success at the British Championships.
Omo continued his winning ways, taking the competition by storm and securing the Gold medal in the individual Under 13s competition. Marshall was competing in the same category, and unfortunately made a couple of mistakes during the prelims which saw him miss out on the final; finishing in a respectable 13th place.
Omo and Marshall were joined by another GBR gymnast to form an Under 15 boy’s team. The team put in a great performance in the team final and took away the Silver medal.
Lewis travelled out to the competition in high spirits following his Gold medal at the British Championships. Unfortunately in the pre-competition training Lewis picked up an injury that saw him forced to withdraw. We wish him a speedy recovery as he prepares for the World Age Group Competition towards the end of November.
Reece shared Marshall’s fortunes, making mistakes in his prelims passes that saw him finish 10th, just outside the individual final. However, as part of a Senior Men’s GBR team he also contributed to a Silver medal.
