Pre-school Gymnastics Classes
Once your child is walking, they're ready to join our preschool gymnastics classes in Stevenage. These parent/carer-led sessions use safe equipment for jumping, balancing, swinging, rolling and catching, giving toddlers and young children a fun, structured introduction to movement and coordination at their own pace. Our preschool coaches support you and your child through each activity so even first-time gymnasts can join in confidently.
Our pre-school gymnastics classes last 45 minutes and are led by qualified British Gymnastics coaches and trainee coaches/volunteers. All coaches over 16 have current DBS clearance and Safeguarding training.
0-3 years Gymnastics Classes
From walking to 3 years with adult supervision.
This preschool gymnastics class includes fun activities for coordination, supervised by a parent or adult and guided by our coaches. The setup features jumping, balancing, swinging, rolling, running, throwing, and catching. Kids can work at their own speed, with staff available to help you assist your child with the equipment.

refunds - all bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable regardless of the reason for non-attendance
age 3 years or less - on the day of the class
must be supervised - 1 adult to 1 child only
no siblings - allowed in the gymnastics hall or left unsupervised in the waiting area
pushchairs - may be left in the waiting area at your own risk
photography - only permitted of your child and agreement form signed

We have an award program for children under 3, where they can earn certificates during classes. You can buy Award Certificates and Ribbons at our website shop. There are 6 awards, starting with Red Level 1 and ending with Purple Level 6. Each level comes with a matching ribbon. Just request a badge sheet when you attend class.

The new events system is for both members and non-members of the Club
When you first use the events system you will be asked to create a user account on myclubadmin
Once you have an account you can then book a class and add your member (gymnast) to it
you can now add multiple events to your basket before you check out
Your payment is due when you book by card / apple pay / google pay
Your basket will automatically empty if checkout is not completed within 10 minutes
3-5 years Gymnastics Classes
Stimulate your child’s physical and social development.
This preschool gymnastics class help children grow physically and socially through themed sessions. Activities include warm-ups and gentle stretching with hand apparatus. Children learn gymnastics skills at fun stations with a coach, do independent movements, and practice coordination with hand apparatus. We finish with a cool down, and gymnasts earn stickers for good behaviour and accomplishments.

If attire is not appropriate it may be unsafe for gymnasts & trampolinists to participate in their classes. We adhere to the section on dress in the British Gymnastics Health & Safety Guidance: Coaching Practice and set out the following guidelines:
Long or short sleeve T-shirt with leggings or shorts suitable for gymnastic
Leotard / Unitard (leotard can be worn with shorts or leggings as appropriate)
Socks / gym shoes are required for trampoline classes
Sweatshirts can be worn on colder day
Glasses should be worn with a sports band
Long hair must be tied back
Do not wear or have the following:
earrings – unless recently pierced they must be removed & not taped over as per British Gymnastics Policy
jewellery* & watches
clothing with zips, buttons, buckles, belts
tops with hoods
fancy dress / costumes / skirts
face paints
excessively long fingernails
* Religious & medical jewellery British Gymnastics Guidelines: a risk assessment should be carried out to see if the jewellery can be safely covered by a sweatband. If the coach identifies a significant risk to the participant, coach or others, which cannot be controlled satisfactorily, then within the bounds of reasonable safety, the coach must prohibit participation.

Age 3-4 years - but children can still participate if they turn 5 in their current term
Joining the class - is via invitation from the waiting list
Class fees - are paid termly in advance
Club & British Gymnastics membership - are both required for participation
Refunds - term fees are non-refundable once the renewal window has closed.
Cancellations - In the event classes are cancelled if the sports centre is closed due to of unforeseen circumstances (ie, but not limited to, extreme weather conditions), the session will not be reimbursed as this is beyond the Club’s control.
Parent / carer - must remain in the waiting area for the duration of the class
Award Scheme - to test the progress of the gymnasts with one award completed per term.
Progression - You will be contacted directly when it is time for your gymnast to move to a new class for their age / ability.

Our Marriotts Gymnastics Club Award Scheme is a progressive programme for ages 3-5 years and is included in your term fees.
The scheme has 6 awards in total, starting at Red Level 1 and finishing at Purple Level 6. A matching rosette is awarded with the certificate at each level.
Gymnasts are tested on skills on the equipment that is used in their classes and will commence on a level suitable to their age or ability.

As soon as your child is walking, they can join our preschool programme, which runs through to around age 5.

Yes — our walking - 3 years preschool classes are parent/carer-supervised, so you'll be on the equipment with your child throughout, guided by our preschool coaches.
The 3-5 years preschool gymnastics are coach led, but parents or guardians MUST remain in the building for the duration of the class.
You can watch your child through the windows of the gymnasium. Refreshments are available.

Yes — children work at their own pace with their parent or carer alongside them, and staff are always on hand to show you how to use the equipment safely with your child.

Classes and holiday camps are booked through our online booking system; if a class is full, you can join the relevant age-group waiting list and we'll offer places as they come up.
