Mens & Womens Artistic British Championships
The 2018 Mens & Women’s Artistic British Championships are being held at the Echo Arena, Liverpool from Thursday 8 March - Sunday 11 March.
Day 1 - Thursday 8 March 2018
The first day of competition saw Caitlin in the Espoir competition for 12/13 year olds.
She was first up in her group on floor and showed great personality in her new routine with one fall on her first tumble. She competed her two vaults to stick and managed to hold her nerve on beam and completed a routine without any falls. Caitlin had a great performance on bars and finished with an all around score of 44.15.
She has made it through to the bars final on Sunday which is an amazing achievement and our first gymnast to qualify for an apparatus final at the British Championships for many years.
Day 2 - Friday 9 March 2018
Day 2 was the turn for Mikie and JJ in the Mens U14 age group of 80 gymnasts.
Mikie went very clean and looked stylish on all 6 apparatus, with an excellent all around score of 67.00 to finish in 16th place.
JJ competed two big vaults to finished in first place with an average of 12.85. He also did very well on floor and pommel finishing with an all around score of 65.00 in 27th place.
JJ's performance qualifies him for the vault final on Sunday. He just missed out on the Floor final, after finishing 9th, but is the first reserve.
